Get your NTN and join the Active Taxpayer List

Income Tax Registration (NTN)

A National Tax Number is the entry point to Pakistan's tax system. Without it you cannot file a return, appear on the Active Taxpayer List, open certain business bank accounts, or register for sales tax. We handle the full FBR IRIS enrolment so your number is issued correctly the first time.

Your registration is filed on the FBR IRIS portal with the correct taxpayer category and business activity codes.

  3. Verification

We complete phone and email verification and respond to any FBR query raised during processing.

  4. Handover

You receive your NTN certificate, IRIS login credentials, and a short briefing on what to do next.

Income Tax Registration questions

What is an NTN and do I really need one?
The National Tax Number identifies you to the Federal Board of Revenue. You need it to file an income tax return, to appear on the Active Taxpayer List, to register for sales tax, and increasingly to open a business bank account or bid for contracts.
Is my CNIC number the same as my NTN?
For individuals, FBR uses your CNIC number as your NTN — but you still must complete registration on IRIS for it to become active. Businesses, AOPs and companies receive a separate seven-digit NTN.
What is the difference between being registered and being a filer?
Registration gets you an NTN. Becoming a filer means your name appears on the Active Taxpayer List, which requires filing your annual return. Non-filers pay significantly higher withholding tax on banking transactions, vehicle registration and property.
Can you register a business that has not started operating yet?
Yes. Many clients register before launch so that invoicing, bank accounts and vendor onboarding are ready from day one.
